On December 1, HHI announced that its brand new diesel forklift truck (30D-9T) received the “2014 Good Design Product Award” from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
“Good Design Product Award” is the most prestigious government certification in the industrial design field in Korea. The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy along with the Korea Institute of Design Promotion evaluates products (launched within the last two years) in various aspects including function, materials, economical efficiency and exterior designs to select the “Good Design Product”.
This newly certified vehicle “FOLEX 30D-9T”introduced in April this year was well-received in the market as a safe and comfortable product with sophisticated appearance.
In 2012 when this forklift truck was at the developing stage, it was honored at Germany’s Red Dot Design Award, one of the top three design competitions in the world, for its sophisticated and innovative design.
On top of that, the forklift equipped with various safety features to monitor the vehicle’s tilting status and freight weight in real-time and apply brake in the absence of an operator in the operator seat.
In addition, the 5.6 inch HD LCD cluster displays the status of vehicles as well as the replacement period of consumables, allowing easier product maintenance.
HHI is buoyed by the favorable reviews that the product has received in the areas of safety and convenience and hopes to get great results in overseas markets as well.
Hyundai Heavy Industries has to date received “GD certification” on twelve of its other products ranging from wheel excavators and crawler excavators to electrical forklifts and industrial robots.
